Scullery Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Scullery is a recipe box that runs on your iPhone. We do not run servers that store your recipes, and we do not ask you to create an account.
Your recipes, lists and plans
Everything you save in Scullery, including recipes, photos, grocery lists and meal plans, is stored only on your device. If you use iCloud or computer backups, Apple may include this data in your device backup under Apple's own privacy policy.
Importing recipes
When you import from a web page, your iPhone downloads that page directly from the website you entered, the same as a browser would, so that website sees your request. When you import from a photo or text, the content is read on your device using Apple's Vision and Foundation Models frameworks (Apple Intelligence) or Scullery's built-in reader. Your photos and text are never sent to us or to any third party.
Advertising (free version)
The free version of Scullery shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google LLC). To serve and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising identifier, if you allow tracking), IP address and coarse location, information about the ads you see and tap, and diagnostic data. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- Tracking: iOS asks whether Scullery may track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, Google serves non-personalized ads. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland: you are shown a consent form before any ad loads, and can change your choices from Settings → Ad Privacy Choices inside Scullery.
- No ads at all: buying Remove Ads or Scullery Pro stops ads completely. The advertising SDK is then never started.
Purchases
Remove Ads and Scullery Pro are sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment under its own privacy policy; we never receive your payment details or Apple Account information. The app only asks StoreKit, on your device, which purchases are active.
Notifications
If you allow them, cook-mode timers schedule local notifications on your device. No push notification service is used.
Camera and photos
The camera and photo library are used only when you choose to import a recipe from a photo or add a picture to a recipe. Images stay on your device.
Deleting your data
Settings → Erase All Recipes & Lists removes everything Scullery stores, or simply delete the app.
Children
Scullery does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the app is configured with Google to serve age-appropriate ads.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
