Skeinwise Privacy Policy

Skeinwise is a row counter and project notebook for knitting and crochet. It is built so that your projects stay yours.

What we collect

Nothing. Skeinwise has no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising. It contains no third-party software development kits.

Where your data lives

Projects, counters, reminders, pattern files, photos, your yarn stash and your hooks and needles are stored only on your iPhone, inside the app. Working time is calculated on the device from your counting and never sent anywhere.

When you choose Export Backup, Skeinwise writes one file and hands it to iOS; you decide where it goes (for example Files or iCloud Drive). When you open a backup, Skeinwise reads it on the device.

Photos and files

Photos you pick for a project or yarn are copied into the app at a reduced size. Pattern PDFs you attach are copied into the app. Skeinwise only sees the photos and files you choose.

Siri and Live Activities

If you use Siri ("Add a row in Skeinwise") or the Lock Screen counter, iOS runs those features on your device. Skeinwise doesn't receive any voice data.

Purchases

Skeinwise Pro is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; Skeinwise only learns from StoreKit, on your device, whether Pro is active.

Children

Skeinwise doesn't collect data from anyone, including children.
